Beat the Heat, the Natural Way

April 7, 2020

Summertime is upon us. The temperature in the environment is getting higher, and we find ourselves sweating more easily. Sweating is our bodies’ way of controlling body temperature. Our skin will release water and salt (this makes our skin feel cooler), and also removes heat from the body.

Humans have this capability – sweating. Animals rely on behavioral changes. These behavioral changes can only be expressed in their natural habitat, and not when they are in confinement. In addition to these changes, animals also rely on panting to regulate body temperature, and to get rid of excess heat. What we may not be aware of is that panting compromises the respiratory tract.

When a bird’s body temperature reaches 106°F (41°C), the efficiency of radiation, conduction, and convection is reduced. Evaporation of water from the respiratory tract from panting becomes their main mechanism of heat loss.

Evaporation of one gram of water is capable of dissipating 540 calories of maintenance energy. In addition, the birds’ nasal cavities work by filtering dust and bacteria from the air, entering the respiratory tract. Using the respiratory system for evaporative heat loss can lead to an increased incidence of second bacterial infections.

To prevent these bacterial infections, we need to ensure that our animals have healthy and clear airways. The safest way to do this is to provide our animals with an all-natural supplement for airway support.

Bronchimax’s components are all herbal. These components provide a synergistic effect that can give our animals the needed expectorants, immune system stimulation, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antibacterial, kidney function support, and promotion of appetite and digestion.
